The Contemporary Art Collection of Sant'Ilario d'Enza, which is like a small town become a reference point for contemporary art in the province of Reggio Emilia.
The Contemporary Art Collection of Sant'Ilario d'Enza is not a museum in the strict sense of the term. It is rather a scattered collection and exhibited at various public places, including the town hall of Sant'Ilario d'Enza, the town Library and Cultural Centre Mavarta. The Contemporary Art Collection of Sant'Ilario d'Enza is composed of approximately 210 works of art acquired by the town from the'50s and is divided into two sections.

First section. The first section of the Contemporary Art Collection of Sant'Ilario d'Enza refers to the season of the prestigious Painting award Sant'Ilario d'Enza, held from 1953 to 1966. Built as a competition at the local level in post-war climate proposals, the award played a major role in the cultural debate of the time, particularly the opposition between art and abstract art.

Second section. The second part of the museum in the province of Reggio Emilia refers to the works donated to the town of Sant'Ilario d'Enza by the intense actors artists exhibitions devoted to contemporary art in the province of Reggio Emilia in the eighties to the present.
