Pasticceria Noviello in Altamura in province of Bari, is a refined and modern meeting place where to savour the best sweets in the area. It seems to enter in a flowered box stuffed with chocolates, pastries and other delicacies. Noviello pastry shop opened in 1994 and it's renowned both for its sweets and savouries, all produced in its annex workshop. The famous "Sospirone" has been invented here, imitated by everybody but without results: the original one is incomparable. This sweet was invented by chance when Maria Antonietta asked the pastry cook, her husband Luigi Noviello to make a simple and good sweet that could be eaten by children. In the morning you can have a nice and abundant breakfast choosing to drink your espresso or cappuccino with croissants, bocconotti, hazelnut, coffee, chocolate, Chantilly cream sciù. They propose a special ring-shape cake with pieces of apple. Noviello also proposes chocolate and praline, Easter eggs and excellent homemade Christmas panettoni made only with raisins. Excellent semifeddo, not to be missed the zabaglione zuccotto. Among the cakes the Sette veli, with chocolate is delicious. Among the ice cream (in fact it's also homemade ice cream shop) one of the most requested flavour is cremolata.Among the savoury specialities the artichokes with shrimp. All the products are delicious because fresh and wholesome such as the fried panzerottini prepared according to the grandmother's recipe.
