Tenuta Montedelma in Passirano is part of the Berardi family tradition since 1929 that works in the wine sector.
The Berardi brothers, considering the vocation of Franciacorta wine, and driven by the new generation in the early 90s began the first investment in Franciacorta, acquiring land in Valenzano (seat of the present company), and after in Provaglio and Provezze.
In 2000 Piero Berardi opens, in collaboration with his father and uncles, Tenuta Montedelma.
His entrepreneurial spirit, combined with sensitivity to the viticulture of land, leads him to deal with body and soul in the creation of this small farm, situated on the slopes of Monte Delma dedicating to the production of prince wine in the area: the Franciacorta DOCG.
With only the word "Franciacorta" refers to the type, method and territory. In fact its disciplinary designation prohibits the use of the word champagne and method of production.
The name "Franciacorta" identifies an area of rolling morainic hills, arranged concentrically around Lake Iseo.
From a morphological and geological point of view the area is extremely diverse, cultivated with Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir.
The philosophy of Tenuta Montedelma in Passirano aims to maintain all the characteristics typical of grapes from their vineyards, through delicate workings of the winery. The strong bond and absolute respect of the territory in which they operate leads to the use of integrated pest control methods, in order to minimize the use of substances harmful for the environment, both for the operator.
The name of the farm, Tenuta Montedelma, meant as a tribute to the land that houses it. The vineyards are located on the slopes of Monte Delma in Valenzano, with at the centre, underground, wine cellars and refinement.
The company, which exports 9% of its products in national territory and the remaining 5% abroad, produces three types of Franciacorta: Brut, Satèn, Rosè, reaching around 120,000 bottles produced annually.
