Food La Caracca - PORTOVENERE (SP)

In the wonderful town of Porto Venere (heritage of Unisco) in province of La Spezia, La Caracca - Pesti artigianali (homemade pesto sauce) isn't just a shop, but a place of wonders. In the long shop between wooden shelves, an imposing counter, and a  colourful display stand you may find rare and precious products from the Ligurian and Italian gastronomy: bread, pasta, oil, wine ad many takeaway dishes such as the tasty lasagne cooked in the oven. Caracca's jewel in the crown is the famous pesto from Liguria: Genoese pesto or red pesto with anchovies. It has been run by the Saturno family for 28 years and in the last two years it's managed by the son Pietro, with the same company policy.Home delivery and gift baskets are available.Opening hours: 8.00-13.00; 16.00-20.00. In high season all-day opening. Closed on Monday.
