Fattoria Licia in Villamagna (Chieti) is a winery that produces Abruzzo wine, founded in the 1930s thanks to the insight of grandfather Peppino, one of the first to plant Montepulciano vineyards in Villamagna.
His father's teachings were passed down to his children Filippantonio and Nicola who planted new vineyards such as Trebbiano, expanding sales throughout the country.
Today Fattoria Licia in Villamagna is run by Enzo de Luca who on the solid foundation of tradition has been able to create a modern, dynamic company attentive to the needs of the markets.
The company covers about 20ha on the hills near the valley of the River Foro. In soils exposed to the south cultivates traditional varieties: Montepulciano and Trebbiano, which in this area express the exact characteristics of typicality, but also international varieties like Chardonnay and Cabernet.
The key to the success of this winery in Abruzzo is its family-run combined with the use of modern technologies that allow the soft pressing of grapes and fermentation temperature control, along with continuous testing to ensure quality at each stage of processing.
The commitment that the De Luca family addressed in the care of the vineyards, the grape harvest and wine making process makes Fattoria Licia a company that produces high quality wines of Abruzzo, while respecting the territory, its features and its traditions.
Fattoria Licia winery periodically offers dinners with wine tasting paired tasting of typical products of Abruzzo deeply linked to tradition, such as bread baked in wood, farmyard chicken and many other delights now hard to find. Wine tourism is a reality in Villamagna.
